The Cats finish 3-0 in division play and then win 4-2 over the DC Flying Elvis' in the Tier 4 Championship game to take 1st place in the 2001 Las Vegas Invitational. Shane Gatz earned the Top Goaltender Award for all Tiers in the tournament.
